Overview
The Opo Coach project entails developing a mobile application specifically for candidates preparing for police and firefighter exams in Spain, with the goal of providing a comprehensive platform for managing and monitoring training progress. At the core of the app are features like Training Metrics Tracking, which allows users to log various physical training activities, including running times and strength training progress. This feature supports both manual data entry and integration with fitness tracking devices, offering versatility for different user preferences.
Another critical feature is the Customizable Training Plans, where users can tailor their training schedules according to the specific demands of police and firefighter physical exams in Spain. This customization is complemented by a variety of templates and guidance, simplifying the process of creating effective training programs.
The app also includes a vast array of Educational Resources, ranging from exam preparation strategies to detailed workout routines and nutrition advice. These resources are specifically designed to be easily understandable and applicable, aiding candidates in their comprehensive preparation.
A significant aspect of the app is its Local Adaptation for Spanish users, ensuring all content and guidelines are culturally and linguistically appropriate. This includes translating the content into Spanish and aligning the training standards with the requirements of the local police and firefighter exams.
Lastly, the app focuses on User Engagement and Motivation. Features like progress tracking and goal setting are implemented to keep users committed to their training. Additionally, a community forum may be incorporated to foster a supportive network where candidates can share experiences and tips, further enhancing the user experience and engagement.
Problem Statement
Aspiring police and firefighter candidates in Spain currently lack a dedicated mobile application that effectively combines comprehensive training management with tailored educational resources. These candidates need a specialized tool to track their physical training metrics, access customized training plans, and utilize educational content specifically geared towards the unique requirements of police and firefighter exams in Spain. The absence of such a resource makes it challenging for them to efficiently prepare, monitor progress, and stay motivated throughout their rigorous exam preparation journey.
My Contribution
In this project, I assumed the role of a comprehensive product designer, working independently. My responsibilities encompassed recognizing the core issue, developing user personas, conducting user research and testing, and designing both the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). Additionally, I managed the transition of the design to the development team.

Important Feedback
Recently, we conducted an in-depth usability test involving a diverse group of participants who closely represent our target user demographic. These included individuals at various stages of their exam preparation, from those just beginning their journey to more advanced candidates. This mix allowed us to gather insights across a broad spectrum of user experiences and interactions with the app.
Our testing methodology was structured around realistic scenarios that a user might encounter while engaging with the app. Participants were asked to complete a series of tasks, such as logging training data, accessing educational resources, and setting up personalized training plans. During these tasks, we measured key usability metrics such as task completion rates, time taken to complete tasks, and the number of steps required for each task. Additionally, participants were encouraged to think aloud, providing valuable qualitative data about their thought processes and immediate reactions to the app’s features.
Post-test, we collected feedback through questionnaires and interviews, focusing on the participants' overall satisfaction and any difficulties they encountered. This feedback was instrumental in uncovering any non-intuitive aspects of the app and areas where users might experience friction.

Content Map
Now we'll create the content map, which provides an overview of the content we need in our app, to cover more information later, serves as a roadmap for creating and organizing content in a product, and helps ensure that the product final meets the needs and expectations of the target audience.
User Flow
A user flow chart is developed to visually map out the steps a user takes to complete a specific task within an application, ensuring that the design supports a seamless and intuitive journey. This process is vital in identifying and addressing potential friction points before development, thereby enhancing user experience, streamlining navigation, and ensuring the functionality aligns with user needs and goals.
Medium-Fidelity Prototype
The development of wireframes focused on the creation of frames are related to technical support services, technical service, home and the assistance bar.
Below is a sample of a low-fidelity visual representation of the layout and functionality of the app. It shows the structure of the screen, and the placement of elements such as text, images, buttons, pop-ups, forms, etc.
